Overview

The project proposes a spatial identity intervention for Nouveau Studio Théâtre, using intersecting triangular geometries as its core language. The forms express shifting relationship between the performer, the stage and the audience- three forces that continuously shape each other. Through this geometry, the intervention redefines circulation, introduces visual continuity and creates a cohesive rhythm throughout the theatre. The aims to translate the theatre's creative energy into a spatial experience.

• Creative Experimentation
• Authenticity
• Adaptability
Deep Dive
Before moving a single wall, we focused on the user experience. The central challenge was accommodating conflicting stakeholder needs:
• Artists felt disconnected from the audience and needed flexibility.
• Staff were tired of the inflexible scheduling and furniture that was difficult to move.
• Audience desired a comfortable spot to relax and an "interesting waiting process."

This research led us to a single solution: Modularity. We realized the entire spatial experience needed to be detachable and easy to assemble, solving the technical headache and the creative snooze button simultaneously.

Design Concept
Personifying the elements symbolic to the craft, our entire concept is developed around Triangles and Squares with 5 different manifested objects.

Visualisation

Reflection

This project taught me how to respond to a real context, work effectively in a short timeframe and think more deeply about how space communicates brand identity and emotion. Our concept aimed to reflect the theatre's identity as a space for creative liberation and co-creation. We drew inspiration from the relationship between the artist and the stage, and translated this idea into the visual language of overlapping triangles. They are used to create movement, connection and symbolism throughout the space.
